Hello!I just adopted a hound from New Mexico. He was listed as a Greyhound/Whippet Mix. He is about 52 pounds - a little big for a whippet and a little small as a greyhound. I have named him Sparky becuase he has such a bright personality. He is about 15 months old.

I have been owned by a retired racing greyhound and a whippet mix before. I see the greyhound in him, but am not sure if whippet is the other part or if maybe an Ibzian or Pharoah Hound might be in there because of his ears and he has a little wider jaw at the ears. Would you call him a Lurcher?

What do you all think?

He is a sweet goofy boy that gets along well with everybody. He is such a joy to be around. I am hoping to maybe do some recreational lure coursing with him along with a lot of couch surfing :)

Awww....!!! He's adorable! There sure is something else in him to give him those ears. You may be right about the other sighthound possibilities. Welcome!

He gets along great with my rat terriers so far. He seems to be just a big goofy lover dog without a mean bone.

In fact, Sighthound like living with another dogs like them. They are pack hounds.
I have 2 Borzois, the male is 4 and the female is 3.
We take care of one female Borzoi every week end (her owner travels a lot), we've never had any fight at home.

Good luck. See you

Thanks all for the kind welcome and comments about Sparky. His ears are my favorite and he is turning out to be quite the jewel of a sweetheart dog. Since no one really knows what he is I think since I like rat terriers and greyhounds we will call hima greyhound/rat terrier mix :) Although I took him too an agility trial today and eeryone seemed to think he was a Pharoah hound.
